The Hello Kitty Shinkansen, launched in June 2018, is a high-speed train on the Sanyo Shinkansen line in Japan, connecting Shin-Osaka Station and Hakata Station. Built as a collaboration between JR West and Sanrio, it celebrates the Sanyo Shinkansen’s 45th anniversary. The train’s exterior is painted in a vibrant shade of pink, reminiscent of Hello Kitty’s signature color, and features decals that create the illusion of Hello Kitty’s face on the front, complete with her iconic bow and whiskers. The front of the train is pointy, typical of the design of most Shinkansen trains, but adorned with Hello Kitty-themed decorations that give it a whimsical appearance.

Inside, the train is decorated with Hello Kitty motifs, including seat covers, curtains, and other elements, creating a fun and inviting atmosphere for passengers. The Hello Kitty Shinkansen’s unique look is especially prominent in the front of the train and the cockpit area.
